Who is Ms. Wedger?

Hey Friends~

My name is Hannah Wedger, an 8th year agriculture teacher in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Let me give you a quick about me ramble.

I grew up in Forest Lake, MN on a small hobby farm. By hobby farm, I mean my parents let us have a few different animals along the way; horses, rabbits, cats and dogs. My dad’s family farm was about a mile down the road and we always grew up with a sense of appreciation for agriculture. Fast forward to high school where I found myself taking ag ed classes and spending a lot of time in the greenhouse. I loved it in there. There is just something about being in a greenhouse that lifts your mood; at least for me it does. One day during my senior year on of my agriculture teachers at the time pulled me aside and told me he thought I might make a good agriculture teacher. I brushed it off with a “ya right” and continued on my way through two years of community college without an idea what I wanted to do professionally. Until…I found myself helping out in the college greenhouse for an elective credit and then it hit me. The classes that I like the most are all of these elective credits that are related to plant science. I like being a leader and I love learning new things. My teacher was right. Fast forward through two more years of college at the U of M majoring in Ag Ed and I was ready to teach! I taught for 3 years in Sauk Rapids, MN before heading to the big city. I have spent the last 4 years teaching in Saint Paul, MN.

A little bit about my family. I am married to Caleb; supportive husband, fishing enthusiast and all-in dad! (No seriously, he just put a life jacket on to play in the kiddie pool with the kids. He is the BEST). Which brings me to our kiddos. We have two babies (I know neither of them are classified as babies anymore but let me have my moment). Willard is the oldest (3 yrs) and is the most kind and funny kid around. He also asks the MOST questions. Josephine is little sister (1.5 yrs) and is definitely our wild child. She is on the go most of the day and if she’s not, she’s eating.
